The Beach of Villa Pescadores has a rich past in Mayan naval history and its great important relationship to water, in Prehispanic history and in Modern history.
On April 25th, 1981 the Fishermen cooperative of Tulum was formed in a General Assembly. The Government granted permission to extract marine species for personal consumption and general commerce. The cooperative is led by Mr. Ramiro Pech Balam and 24 other fishermen families, and they have been granted Playa Pescadores (Fisherman’s Beach), which is why our hotel is named Villa Pescadores. We are a group of people that have been involved in the tourist industry for more than 20 years. We operate two other hotels on the beach in Tulum - Ahau & Alaya - and soon one more in Bacalar, Quintana Roo.On July 30th of 2014, we made an agreement with the Fishermen cooperative of Tulum to operate our hotel on their beach, respecting their everyday fishing activities, because we know how important this is for the Tulum region, for those of us that live here and those who visit. We value the fishing tradition and the synergy with the Primordial Sea. We have created an intimate environment where all feel welcomed and fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place. We offer you activities like: Yoga, Paddle Surf, Biking or Just enjoying a refreshing beverage on the beach. The characteristic calm and beauty of this paradise, and our expertise in the tourist industry will make you come back time and time again.
