    OUR STORY

    HELLO!

    We are a group of people with more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry and a common passion for Tulum. We truly believe in cultural traditions, nature respect & sustainable development. Following this passion, we created Villa Pescadores, a Tulum Boutique Hotel & Beach Club that preserves the old Tulum essence. 

    The real heroes of our story are more than 70 people who help us every day to make Villa Pescadores a reality. They are the heart and soul of this place. All of us are excited to have you in Tulum and share our little paradise with you.

    THE STORY

    Tulum was an important city in Mayan history. Due to its strategic location, Tulum was an inescapable stop on ancient Mayan commercial routes, as well as, an important source of marine resources.
    1981 Tulum's Fishermen Cooperative was formed and granted with federal permits to fish for personal consumption and commerce. This Cooperative was stablished where our beach is today. This is why our beach is called Playa Pescadores (Fishermen beach).
    In July 2014 we signed an agreement with the Fishermen Cooperative to operate the hotel and the restaurant on the property, coexisting with the fishermen boats, respecting the environment, their traditions and work.
    To build Villa Pescadores we used the existing Mayan huts. We built the new beach cabañas over the old ones, reusing materials and affecting as little as possible the natural environment of the property.
    In December 2014 Villa Pescadores Hotel & Beach Club Tulum opened its doors.
    In September 2016 Villa Pescadores was awarded with the Green Key Status for its excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable management.
